Ed Chevy has achieved great success with the all American deaf rock band, Beethoven's Nightmare, as a bassist, composer and singer. His work as a rock musician brought deaf music to the national stage.
Ed Chevy lives in Oahu, Hawaii and has years of experience in the field of entertainment. He is recognized as a highly acclaimed American Sign Language (ASL) performing artist, captivating the audience with his music, storytelling and comedy. Currently, Ed is teaching ASL music and storytelling at a community college in Honolulu.
His performance credits include:
- Co-founding the 50’s rock and roll music signing troupe Burning Rubber at Gallaudet University, a pioneering group in sign language musical production.
- Co-founding the award winning MUSIGN Theater Company, a group that translates songs into sign language using dance, music, mime and visual effects.
- Co-founding Sign Wave Players, an ensemble of visual music performers in Hawaii.
- Performing in several stage productions, including The Glass Menagerie and The Bad Seed.
- ASL storytelling at deaf events across the nation.
